Wei Wei Ng celebrates more than seven years of distinguished leadership at United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Berhad (UOB Malaysia), where she continues to serve as Chief Executive Officer. Since joining UOB Malaysia, Wei Wei has successfully progressed through several senior executive positions, including Managing Director & Country Head of Wholesale Banking, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, and ultimately Chief Executive Officer. Throughout these roles, she has overseen critical business functions covering wholesale banking, retail banking, Islamic banking, digitalisation, foreign direct investment advisory, and enterprise risk management, helping strengthen UOB Malaysia’s competitive position and long-term growth strategy.
Before joining UOB Malaysia, Wei Wei spent more than 13 years with HSBC, where she held numerous senior leadership appointments across Malaysia and Hong Kong. Her career included roles such as Managing Director, Deputy Head of Commercial Banking & Country Head of Corporate, Regional Head of International Countries, Global Trade & Receivables Finance (Asia Pacific), and several executive positions leading commercial banking, corporate banking, trade finance, liquidity management, and regional business development initiatives.
Across her extensive banking career, Wei Wei has built a strong reputation for leading complex transformation programmes, developing high-performing teams, strengthening client relationships, and driving sustainable business growth.
