Omar Anuar Roslay continues to build an impressive career in the oil and gas industry as Principal Piping Engineer at Subsea7, bringing nearly two decades of experience in piping engineering, technical leadership, and complex project execution. His professional journey reflects a commitment to engineering excellence, continuous learning, and developing technical capabilities across onshore, offshore, and subsea projects.
Since joining Subsea7 in 2018, Omar has progressed through increasingly responsible engineering roles, advancing to his current principal-level position. Throughout this journey, he has developed extensive expertise in piping design verification, pipe stress analysis, engineering execution planning, technical governance, and risk management. His work involves ensuring engineering solutions comply with applicable industry codes and project requirements, including ASME B31.3, B31.4, and B31.8.
Beyond technical delivery, Omar plays an important role in providing engineering direction, resolving complex technical challenges, and supporting the development of engineering teams. He also works across disciplines to align technical decisions with procurement, fabrication, project costs, and delivery schedules. This combination of technical knowledge and commercial awareness enables him to contribute to effective project execution while maintaining engineering standards and managing project risks.
Over the course of his career, Omar has contributed to more than 40 greenfield and brownfield projects, gaining experience across different phases of the engineering and project lifecycle. His broad exposure has strengthened his ability to address technical challenges, coordinate multidisciplinary activities, and support project objectives in demanding engineering environments.
Before his current role, Omar served as Lead Mechanical and Piping Engineer at Petrofac Engineering Services (M) Sdn Bhd, where he led a team of 10 engineers and designers and supported multidisciplinary project execution. He also led the Piping Department at IFP Engineering Solutions Sdn Bhd and worked as a Senior Piping Engineer at Petrofac. Earlier in his career, he began as a PDMS Design Engineer at RNZ Integrated Sdn Bhd, establishing a technical foundation that would support his subsequent progression into engineering leadership.
